Unleash Your Creativity at Terrapin Studios
Terrapin Studios is a haven for art enthusiasts of all ages regardless of skill or experience. Our paint your own pottery studio offers a relaxing space where you can unleash your creativity and paint your own pottery. Prices range from $6 to $160 per piece, and the cost includes studio time, all supplies, and the post-painting finishing and firing process, all handled by our expert team. We also host after-hours parties and events for groups of 5 or more, with a $150 deposit to reserve the materials and time, and a $100 party fee for up to 6 people, plus an additional $10 per person for larger groups. ("After hours" is anytime the studio is closed or by appointment only)

Sourdough Starter Class April 25 at 4pm - Pottery Included!
Come to the studio to learn how to make sourdough starter and come home with your own little bit of starter in a glass jar. Also take the time to paint your very own garlic and herb stripper dish to make the most delicious tipping plate for your new bread!
$55 total cost with a $25 fee for registration. Covers all materials, instruction, and take home starter!
Stoneware Mug Project - Saturday 4/25 @ 2pm
Come learn how to paint your own stoneware mug! If you don’t like the colors pictured, you are welcome to choose different colors. This is a super user friendly technique that I am so excited to share with you!
$15 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $15 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
TRIVIA NIGHT!!! - Friday 4/17 @ 6pm
Come paint some pottery and have some fun!
Tickets are $8 per person plus the price of the pottery you choose to paint. There will be prizes too!

Cinco de Mayo Karaoke Party!
Come sing karaoke and paint some Pottery! There will be a taco bar and you’re free to bring your own beverages. Purchase a pottery is required and price varies, depending on what you select.
$10 deposit required in addition to the price of the piece(s) you select to paint.
Stoneware Bouquet Vase Class - Friday 4/3 @ 5:30pm
Take a break from the ordinary and learn how to create this beautiful stoneware vase. Stoneware is more durable and can take higher heat than earthenware, therefore is the perfect material for getting these beautiful drips and variations.
$25 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $50 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
Pinch Pots & Pinot - Wed 4/8 @ 6pm
Roll up your sleeves, sip a glass of wine (optional), get a litle messy and have a LOT of fun!
We will be making small bowls of your design. We provide all the materials, and you bring the creativity!
After pieces are dried and fired, you will return to glaze your pieces. Please be sure to come within a week or 2 as we have limited storage space.
Total price for the class is $30. Must pay $15 deposit to secure your spot.
Seashell Decoupage Workshop - Saturday 4/18 @ noon
All materials will be provided. Come relax and welcome those summer beach vibes all while creating these beautiful decoupage seashells!
$10 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $25 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and gold leaf paint.
EARTH DAY!!! Bee cups and Flower Frogs - Wednesday 4/22 @ 6pm
Come hand build these adorable little flower frogs and bee cups to celebrate Earth Day! Each participant will also receive a packet of "Save the Bees" seeds to take home!
$25 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $25 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
Fluted Stoneware Platters - Friday 4/24 @ 6pm
Come learn the various glazing techniques and create your custom platter. Great for serving, or on the coffee table as display pieces. Colors are totally customizable to your aesthetic.
$25 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $25 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
Peacock Bowl Project - Wednesday 4/15 @ 6pm
Come learn how to create this beautiful bowl with me! If you don’t like blues, you are welcome to choose different colors. this is a super user friendly technique that I am so excited to share with you! This class is appropriate for all ages so long as there is parental supervision.
$25 reserves your spot for the class, with an additional $25 due at the time of the class. Covers instruction, all materials, and firing.
Hand Building Berry Bowl Workshop - 4/29 @ 5:30pm
Get your hands dirty and come slab build these adorable little berry colanders!
These will be made by you - feel free to put your own spin on it! We will be there for instruction and direction. Once these are dried and bisque fired, you will return within 2 weeks to glaze and complete your creation!
$25 deposit with an additional $25 due at the time of class. All materials provided and included.
Honeycomb Mug Project - Thursday 4/23 @ Noon
Come learn how to paint your own honeycomb stoneware mug! If you don’t like the colors pictured, you are welcome to choose different colors. This is a super user friendly technique that I am so excited to share with you!

Item Pick Up Policy
Don’t Leave Us Hanging!
Pick-Up Deadline: Finished pieces must be picked up within 30 days from the date of purchase receipt.
Unclaimed Pottery after no 30-day pickup: If pottery remains unclaimed after the storage period, some pieces may be selected for an annual auction/sale, with proceeds donated. Unselected pieces will be disposed of.

Our pottery ranges in price from $6 to $160, with most options around $30 per piece. Firing is done on Mondays. Pickups will be the Tuesday after you paint. We do not offer shipping.

My name is Kim Roland, and I opened Terrapin Studios in November of 2024.

My name is Kim Roland, and I opened Terrapin Studios in November of 2024.
After losing my husband to cancer in 2023, I was craving a way to create something where I could be available to my daughters, and also share my love of creativity and togetherness within my community. This lead to my decision to start this business.
A little about me...I received my Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Interior Design from Winthrop University. Throughout my career, my main focus has been hand rendering, space layouts, finish selections and the more creative side of interior design.
Years ago, I had the opportunity to be an adjunct professor at Winthrop University. I taught classes on design and color theory, hand lettering, model building, architectural design, etc. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for teaching and working with people in creative environments.
I am thrilled for this chance to pursue my dream of owning my own business and spreading my love of art and teaching to my beloved community in Ridgeland and surrounding Low country areas.
